Since kathy griffin has been on broadway, i assume i can post about her new show

It launched from san fran thurs and fri for 50 cities including Carnegie hall and radio city nesr the end of the month. On fri, there was a small protest out front and they did get inside the theater with trump banners (my Thomas' english muffins were confiscated as food but trump banners are acceptable) to be escorted out. 3h30m no intermissiin. Ive never sat thst long before. Her focus is the financial, politcal, and carreer fallout from picture holding trump mask with ketchup (as she pointed out, its not a beheading without an actual head)--personally i didnt think it was appropriate or that funny, but nothing really actionable and just move on to t0other things. Really fascinating how scared other celebraties are with critisizing this administration ( i have more respect now for robertD at tonys). I didnt realize that secret service and fbi investigated her for 2 months and put her on inter national terrorist list where she is flagged at every airport in world at customs for interrogstion. Plus she had an interview with the gov to determine if she should be prosecuted for conspiring to assassinate the president and connection to isis. The show is mixed with humor like the kardasians as next door neighbors and other celebs that turned or supported her during the last year. The last line of the show is priceless. Earlier she thanked us for buying tickets because this was the first paying job she had in the u.s. and she was told by the president no less that her career was over and she would never work again. Clearly there is material to edit and cut as the tour progresses, but it never hit home for me how the government can destroy people for personnel grudges.

3 hours and 30 minutes?!? That's insane considering before she pretty much started the clock at 90 minutes and watched it tick down to 0 and then got the hell off.

I knew that you are automatically investigated if you make even a joking threat against a sitting president. I'm not sure where I got that info from but I'm surprised she didn't know it or the photographer or somebody along the way that printed that photo.

It's not very clear to me whether you liked the show or not, though it sounds like you liked the last line at least? ;-)

I would call her an acquired taste, I guess. I have to admit that even in her Seinfeld appearances, I didn't take to her much at all, finding her more obnoxiously strident and pushy than anything else. But I also mention that because this whole show sounds much like one of those episodes - the one where she kept using her stand-up show to complain about and attack Jerry. (The conceit that he could ultimately never say anything right and that it all become fodder for her act - that was funny. Her character itself was not, IMO.) I guess not much has changed?

She of course has the right to do a show about whatever she wants, but to me this sounds pretty tedious and uninviting. Not to mention the running time. Wow.

During the interrogation, the person asked griffin what she would say to the president if he walked through the door ( and she did wonder if he might actually walk through the door). She said she had to pull her inner Martha Stewart and said that she would just say “hi”.

Never cared for her celebrity-adoring stand-up schtick or public persona, though often found My Life on the D-List a fascinating look how that front is maintained. I wish her success, even if her bread-and-butter isn't to my taste.

Luckily i had an aisle seat, but I was only bored a few times. I looked at my watch a lot more during 90 minutes of straight white men.

Einstein On The Beach lasts 5 hours with no official intermission, though originally they let people leave and return as they needed to, and I assume that's been the norm in subsequent productions.

Then again, Einstein On The Beach is, easily, much funnier than Griffin...;-)
