| Thanks, Sergius. You nailed it. I was there yesterday (in the orchestra). An exceptional play performed wonderfully. An uncommonly difficult piece whose delivery requires considerable courage, I should think. Especially through the repititions, I agree that the combination of projection and enunciation made the opening minutes of the play challenging. And occasionally at other times. But not in a way that made it unintelligible. The play is one of the most emotionally difficult I’ve ever seen. I plan to hear it again when Audible publishes it. I found myself outraged at moments, in tears at others, laughing out loud often and so on. I want to think through what it’s saying and doing with more care than the surprise of just the moments allows. |
