The Lyric redesign is stunning with the whole theater themed for the play, I think it would be a slight disappointment now for me to see it anywhere else that didn't have such a revamp and might seem to me to be a much less a special presentation.. I was in Row A Dress Circle and luckily I was around the bend as the seats get closer to the stage which made my seat about 7 rows closer than the front of the middle part of the Dress Circle. I think it was just about right in A17, far enough forward to see the actors properly but any further round the bend and the view was probably slightly obstructed as the seats there didn't quite face the stage, they would be more like box seat views.
As for the play I was blown away by the stage craft and the complex and interesting story. It's very often funny and thrilling and sometimes rather moving. I can't see how it could have been any better at all from the acting, effects and story. I know some people here were not fans of the text as written but I found it pure entertainment and an excellent sequel to the books. |
