People have to read into it what they want because little is spelled out. The show can sit there like a big meandering blob.
I'm on Team Blob, probably because (even in real life) I'm borderline autistic and don't realise what's happening emotionally if I'm not told. I don't think it's pandering to include some slight dialogue that addresses situations ... they eventually explained even "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf." Otherwise with two silent people sitting I could imagine "they're waiting to kill each other," "they are trying to memorize a Fibonacci series," or "they're pondering how if only circumstances were different they might get it on." It's hard to tell.
I honestly didn't even realise people were waiting for those two to get together, because (a) he seemed age inappropriate, and (b) she's just some nice lady who let him stay the night. Are we waiting for the other dude to have a foursome with Mom, Dad, and Father-in-Law? |
