I saw her in a forgettable show decades ago, and she was disappointingly blah. It was at what is now called the Hayes, and after the show she was really annoyed when Barnum, at the St. James, let out, and people kept asking her to sign their Barnum playbills. I don't blame her!

The Curse of an Aching Heart. She was loyal on that one. The author was the guy who wrote her first hit play so she did it for him to get it to Broadway. In her book she says that ultimately that wasn't a good idea since people came to see a Faye Dunaway vehicle and that play wasn't one. She even just took alphabetical billing under the title but people still came to see it expecting her to be the star. (and this was just months after Mommie Dearest's release so she was a hot name.
