What a small world. I was just in touch with Marcus Chait, who runs his family jewelry business, 66 Mint, in San Francisco.
I told him about this thread on All That Chat, and he says he and his wife (and 2 kids) are happy and healthy in the Bay Area.
Melissa also has taught Broadway classes and directed a local ''The Wizard of Oz,'' and Marcus is involved with producing.
I'll remember Marcus because he played Wes, the villain of ''Urban Cowboy'' (2003). Out of the blue, I got a long and incredibly gracious email from him. He thanked me for supporting the show; so much of the press had slammed it. I had featured Matt Cavenaugh in Playbill's ''Leading Men'' column and often posted favorably about the show on All That Chat. I still contend it was a terrific and fun show. One of the wildest times I'll ever recall is their initial closing night where the producer rescinded their closing notice. Jason Robert Brown wrote some nifty tunes for the Tony-nominated score, and I still wish there were a cast album.
And Marcus says he still keeps in touch with ''Urban Cowboy'' alumni, recently talking to Jenn Colella (''Come From Away''). |
