I couldn't agree less. Saw the show in Los Angeles. If you read the S.F. Chronicle review in full you see that is confusingly written. As is the show. This is NOT the next HAMILTON. It may well get hosannas from "those who matter" when it gets to New York, but it is a mess, has a terribly boring beginning, and is overstuffed with simplistic ideas. Didn't like the music that much either. No, not the new HAMILTON. More like CAROLINE OR CHANGE GOES TO CHINA. And headed for the same commercial fate, no matter how much Brantley & Co. coo over it.
