How on earth is it "more like Caroline or Change goes to China"???

I saw the show and basically thought it was an semi-interesting fully-admirable mess and not at all good musical or play... and I adore most of Tesori's work (especially Caroline).

But what do the two shows have to do with each other? I'm baffled. (maybe I'm confused because I think Caroline is brilliant and quite an amazing play and musical... significantly better conceived and written on all levels, but especially in the character/story/structure department than Soft Power)
