Salt Lake City is actually the 7th "gayest" city in the U.S. according to Gallup polling looking at the percentage of metro populations that identify as LGBT. San Francisco – unsurprisingly – ranks #1, but it's hardly surprising that smaller theatre companies in states like Utah would be eager for new LGBT plays precisely to challenge the status quo.
