Oh, I can think of another example of a star who was doing a tour in which he recreated his iconic, Tony-winning role and insisted that his wife be cast in a supporting role, even though she wasn't much of an actress or singer and she wasn't a dancer at all.
In my case, I was trying to be careful to not reveal pronouns. But your example sounds very similar to mine, except that the understudy was much more of a dancer than a singer, and this was not at all a dance show. |
