| Ooomf, look at the seating chart night after night after night for "Comfort Women" at ticketcentral.com. I'd estimate 99% of every performance is still unsold. Talk about lack of interest in a show! And wow, look at the scenery. Check out YouTube's video of the song "There You Go" from the earlier incarnation of the show. Looks like the set is composed solely of a wooden bench. Guess they spent the big bucks on the scenery! Do you think we'll hear the "scheduling conflict" excuse and the "plans" to resurrect the show at a later date? If Playwrights Horizons is counting on income from this rental show to help their bottom line, they are probably very worried right now by looking at the lack of sales. On the other hand, look at the sales for "Be More Chill" - they are sold out for the first several weeks of the show. From looking at YouTube videos of the show, this looks like it'll be a huge hit. Reminds me of rock musicals like major hits like Rent or Dear Evan Hansen. Can't wait to see this show! |
