Of course, that's a lyric from ''Bobby and Jackie and Jack,'' a political spoof from ''Merrily We Roll Along'' (1981).
This got me to thinking: How many Broadway musicals are actually set IN the White House? (Or have scenes inside of it?)
''Of Thee I Sing'' (1931); ''Let 'Em Eat Cake'' (1933); ''Mr. President'' (1962); ''1600 Penn. Ave.'' (1976); ''Annie'' (1977); ''Teddy & Alice'' (1987) …
But I'll bet there's many more. … (And ''Soft Power,'' currently trying out in San Francisco, does ''Good Guy With a Gun'' in the White House.)
