Your post was about the booming Court Square hub, but you can only name two theaters, and one of them is quite old. So your initial post was wildly incorrect. I would add that while both of the spaces you mention are worthwhile fringe spaces, neither does programming on a level that we see from the cluster of theaters along 10th Ave in the 50s, which are Ars Nova, ART/NY, EST, and the upcoming MCC complex (most of which are, in fact, actually new).
Tossing in the handful of theaters around BAM - you forgot Mark Morris - doesn't add anything to your argument about the Court Square hub, which isn't even in the same borough. That being said, BAM (which you counted twice), TFANA, and Irondale to a lesser extent are the only major companies that produce in the area. I live less than 20 minutes from BAM, so I would love to see this area become the next hot spot for theater, but that doesn't seem likely.
What does it being 4th of July have to do with you actually proving the things that you state as facts, but are instead either wild exaggerations or complete fabrications? Oh wait, I guess that is what America is now (and perhaps always ever was). |
