It's unseemly, denigrating Denzel Washington. I'm biased, since I saw his performance, which I found stunningly good, his monologue moved me to tears.
But whether I saw it or not, or liked it or not: who the hell invited her to trash-talk an actor with so many stage credits? Who was also trained? And has a most impressive, much-awarded body of work in three mediums? She doesn't have any self-awareness, running around at her age denouncing gifted peers. She looks small, bitter, without any positive reflection on her own career, or ability to fold it into the industry in which she -- and many, many others -- toil. |
