We've all heard stories about Karen Mason jumping in a cab/making up to get to the theater and replace Betty Buckley in act two of "Sunset." (Well, maybe not all of us; I was there that day). Mason wasn't in the house, she barely got her mic on.
When Midler didn't go on, and I believe it happened only once, her understudy went on, not Donna Murphy. |
