Where did she call her "that dancer"?
Is that in her book?
I saw an interview somewhere where she said something like "she was a real Eve Harrington, that one."
I always wondered why Klausner never took over the role later in the run.
I read some of Andrew LW's bio and he says he doesn't quite remember the first time he heard the name Patti Lupone but his audition notes on her were "diction" and "warmth?"
I says of Klausner that she sang a very charming and strong version of "I Don't Know How to Love Him" at her audition and that when he left to go back to London and the cast was to start rehersals Hal Prince was delighted with the choices of having Lupone as the main one and Klausner as the alternate.
(but I bet Weber must have times where he ever regrets meeting Lupone and things of how smoother his life could have been with that nice Klausner "dancer") |
