I had the good fortune to see Hello, Dolly! yet another time today is thanks to TDF. I had a nice seat in center mezzanine Row D.
The show is still in terrific shape and everyone is glorious.
But I noticed that a scene has been cut when Dolly revisits the street where her dead husband had his business and she has a conversation with Mrs. Rose, an aquaintance or friend from the past. That character and conversation is cut and Dolly just begins her monologue before singing Before the Parade Passes By.
It's an awkward deletion because the context of where Dolly is becomes much less clear. |
