Keeping in mind that the charms of the Barrington ON THE TOWN were its scaled down cast, production values, and band. All of this was lost when it transferred. I believe a first class production was required to use the full orchestra etc. So what was a charming miniature On The Town at Barrington, became a gigantic overblown version on Broadway. And dare I say - one of the ugliest sets ever seen on the Great White Way.
