I just saw a regional production of "She Loves Me." (Review will post later.) I was surprised by the rather limp ending. Georg and Amalia, alone on stage, reprise just a few bars of one of the songs ("Dear Friend," I think) and embrace. It wasn't much of a closing number -- certainly not the rousing ending I expect from a traditional musical.
Wikipedia simply lists the last song as "Finale" -- Georg and Amalia.
I saw the 2016 Roundabout revival, and I don't remember the ending being so unexciting. Does anyone remember the details? |
