Styne vs Streisand
Posted by: raydan 12:01 am EDT 07/07/18

So today I listened to Bill Rudman’s fantastic two part interview with Jule Styne on Footlight Parade. Part 1 focused on Broadway, with Part 2 on Hollywood. Not only was Funny Girl never mentioned, but at one point in the second part, Styne dissed Streisand saying she would never achieve the singer stardom power of Sinatra based on his ability to sing the song without getting in the way of it (my language)

That comment along with no mention of Funny Girl on stage or film added up to some drama I had not heard before.

Does anyone have knowledge of any fall out between Styne and Streisand?
