| I'm curious why you would want to see Lin DIRECT this show... he has no directing experience in musicals or film. If it's not going to be an established or new star film director (it is), why wouldn't you want to see Tommy Kail get to do it, who helped shape and make the stage musical a hit and has already won awards for his directing of the live tv production of Grease, which was the best and most excitingly directed of the live tv musicals? He clearly has interest in screen directing, and talent for it. Not sure what makes Lin a good candidate for this specifically. In fact as the writer and original star, I'd wonder if he is too close to the stage version to be able to make a fresh and dynamic film version of it... especially with no real experience with film or direction, let alone live action. |
