| There are several things I do want to respond to in this thread, but I'm not sure I'll get around to it. But I thought I'd just jump in and mention that I've come across alternates back in 1911, earlier than any examples I've mentioned here before. The show was The Balkan Princess. Louise Gunning and Christine Nielson alternated in the leading role, Princess Stephanie of Balaria. |
