Well it's in the dialog near the end: Eliza says clearly that she doesn't want a romantic relationship with Higgins but there is something pleasing about their friendship with each other that she values. I wish I could quote the exact words.
I know Higgins is exasperating in his behavior toward Eliza but her glee in leaving him bereft seems unduly cruel at the end.
I hate to say this but I think I preferred Anderson to Ambrose in the part. |
