I thought Karl would've had a lock almost any year but one being up against Platt. It was still the most versatile musical comedy performance of last season, in my humble opinion (and yeah, I'm a fan of Platt's). I think he would've taken it over Shalhoub, who only sings a half of one song. Not that song count matters -- i.e. Glynis Johns -- but Karl's was old school brilliant, close to the work of a Robert Preston or, more recently, Hugh Jackman.
But this is just a parlor game. We'll never know. |
