| Wayman -- I posted an obituary about Jeff here on this board last week. It's still on the main page. While it is tragic that a Broadway actor has died; at this point, the only story seems to be one sided hearsay from family / friends alleging that the reason for Jeff's suicide was his treatment at a rehearsal by Walter Bobbie and Musical Director, Leslie Stifelman. I presume when these kinds of allegations are made, they are being investigated, but I would imagine there is also the potential for slander/libel, which is why I must also presume the owners of message boards are careful about what is posted. I don't know what kind of legal action this could ever evolve into - other than a potential wrongful termination suit. While I find it troubling that Broadway level creatives are being accused of inappropriate bullying, as someone who has also had friends and family who have dealt with depression and suicide, I find it also troubling that the family seems to be diverting any conversation about Jeff potentially wrestling with those mental issues into a hunt simply blaming other people for his death. There is never any 'justice' to be found in a suicide. It's always a tragic situation, and the only hope ever is that other people will be inspired to seek help if they have similar feelings. |
