I just watched it last month on Gay Pride Sunday, so Tab/Arthur has been in my thoughts a lot. It is quite wonderful and I recommend it - you get a sense of what a good, decent person Tab Hunter was.
BTW: Hunter really wanted to do the role of Tony in the 1961 movie version of "West Side Story" and I think he would have been better as an actor in the role than Richard Beymer and could have done his own singing. He later played the part in stock productions with members of the original cast. However, by 1961 Hunter's star had fallen precipitously with his decision to break his Warner Bros. contract and his wholesome "boy next door" persona going out of fashion in the counterculture era of the 1960's. Hunter had worked a lot with Natalie Wood and Warners hoped to make them a great screen team. Anyway, an underrated talent who acted on the stage all over the country for a long time after his Hollywood heyday.
Did anyone catch Tab in one of his stock tours?
