| Is it that hard to believe that any minority group might favor a show they can relate to? Clearly, if the show is a flop (like rags) or just plain bad, that overrides everything. But I tend to favor a gay oriented show if I were a voter. I might have even voted for significant others over the humans that year. (I don’t recall if it was a nominee since it already closed). I think it is a hard to ignore your background when relating to a show. To say that people don’t vote based on race or minority status is naive—our current president capitalized on that. I doubt that tony voting is that far fetched from generalizations for a presidential election. The world can’t be whitewashed like you want it to be. |
