It's just a crude way of saying something that has some truth to it. I would have said the liberal zionist vote which is pretty much the majority of the nyc theater world, Jewish and non-Jewish.
In any event, the show is about "unity" so says Orin Wolf, its lead producer. My favorite line in the NY Times profile below is that Mr. Wolf has bought a home in a place called "Northern Manhattan" (both words capitalized) an area one must now no longer recognize as washington heights and inwood.
