Running a straight obit about Loeffelholz is the safest and most vanilla thing you can do. But in the wake of these allegations of bullying, Judd Bernstein, the Weisslers' lawyer, says the producers are ''taking the matter very seriously,'' and he is doing ''an exhaustive investigation.''

In an earlier post, Maguire75 suggests that ''the only story seems to be one-sided hearsay from family/friends'' alleging the bullying. But that's the nature of news: One party accuses another of something; then, the other party responds by acknowledging or denying it, etc. (See MeToo stories.)

The N.Y. Post also reached out to Walter Bobbie, who chose not to address the accusation, but expressed his sympathy at ''Jeff's tragic passing.''

The N.Y. Post added: ''[Musical director] Leslie Stifleman didn't get back to us.''

Finally, I do hold Playbill.com to a higher standard because I consider it a more reliable and legit source. But I have to question the site's news judgment when nothing is reported about Loeffelholz, while it trumpets ''Today's Top Story'' is a photo handout of Karen Olivo from ''Moulin Rouge.''
