| The recent unfortunate passing of Jeff Loeffelholz got me thinking about the Chicago Gala that happened somewhere between five and ten years ago. I'm not sure what the event was commemorating, but I seem to recall that all of the funds raised went to a womans shelter. I didn't see the official performance, just the final dress rehearsal, which had a pretty full audience. The event was obviously inspired from the A Chorus Line gala when it became the (then) longest running show on Broadway. Performers from productions all over the world took turns doing numbers. The things that I remember off the top of my head is that Chita did All That Jazz. The cast at the time performed the Cell Block Tango. Melanie Griffith performed the song Roxie. I don't know who sang A Little Bit of Good, programs weren't provided. But I remember thinking that they sounded amazing. Honestly, their voice sounded glorious. The crowd really went nuts for him. Does anyone know if that was Jeff Loeffelholz? Again, I didn't see the official performance, just the final dress rehearsal (in case they were two different people) Thanks! |
