You're right I don't think it references it specifically or with any importance... BUT... In the Heights is largely a young show about mostly young people, and I think the movie will be much better off with someone in their mid 20s doing the role rather than someone who will be 40 when the movie happens.
Also I think most people picture him young because when Lin played it he was around 28 years old... and when Corbin Bleu played it he was like 21. |
