I remember the first time I finally saw a production, after growing up listening to the cast recording. I was shocked to learn that there were no book scenes between all those songs.

I was like... "um... where's the exposition?"

Honestly, if you knew nothing about actual Peron-era history, you'd be completely lost if it weren't for the direction and the reliance on historic photography to fill in the details.

I'm thankful for the handful of videos from the Broadway and national tour that are floating around the internet; it's stunning to see just now COOL that production was.
