| I could not agree with you more. So many films have been ruined by split second edits; Chicago (Reached For The Gun and All That Jazz) and the filmed DVD version of Cats to name the most ruined I can think of among present day musicals. When dance numbers are involved, it's simple. Send the editor out for coffee. Pull the camera back about 30-40 feet and let it roll. Then take the "take" and keep it away from the editor. Imagine watching Rogers and Astaire dancing with today's style of editing. No way. |
