| So it was announced that Steve Kazee is making a Lifetime movie called Tempting Fate in which he plays a father whose wife cheats on him. Kazee had posted a photo of himself in Instagram holding a baby and saying that turning 42 has allowed him to play a dad. The movie is shot in Vancouver. I hope he does come back to Broadway. I saw the recent promo video for Pretty Woman with Samantha Banks singing a song with awful lyrics. Andy Karl doesn't sing at all. Maybe he dodged a bullet? Only time will tell. |

| To take care of his dad in moving after family home burned down? So he is really doing a movie instead? Why give some bogus excuse? | |

| Wow -- way to immediately jump to the negative and assume that he was lying. I hope that made you feel good about yourself. Kazee DID leave Pretty Woman because his father's house burned down, and he needed to be on the ground to help his father. Doing so meant he would have to miss significant rehearsal commitments, which is why he had to leave. He's also someone who still needs to work. Do you think that caring for his father means doing nothing else 24/7? The man has had a rough couple years with the death of his mother, a potentially career-ending vocal injury and a fire that he said on Twitter "resulted in a total loss of home and all possessions." Click the link if you don't believe it. |

| And to your point, maybe he needed the money from the Lifetime film; 22 days of work, very nice salary. The business of acting is rough. A corporate produced film, rather than an indie, can pay bills and provide needed benefits, like health insurance. Health insurance is no easier for actors. Making is a living isn't any easier after Tonys and other awards. The awards don't spew $20 bills like an ATM. |

| I think it's likely that he DID need to help his father and has done all that he could do in that regard and now this movie is his next job. He probably did not want to commit to doing PRETTY WOMAN in New York, including all the rehearsals and learning of new material, at a time when he honestly did not know what his time commitment to his family would need to be. | |

| Shooting a few scenes in a movie is different than committing to a Broadway show for a year. | |
