| I am very sympathetic to where you're coming from. A classic by white people, directed by a white person, but about people of color, might seem unnecessary in 2018. That being said, I fully believe that there's still room for it if it's done well, and I am looking forward to this production. | |

| It is not *about* people of color. Let's be clear about that. And why wouldn't there be "room" for this classic which is one of the best and most powerful musicals ever written, with perhaps the best music ever written for a musical, and depicting a conflict between two groups of people that will likely be relevant always? |
