The show is not for everyone, and I think it made a better first impression when performed by actual Civilians under Steve Cosson's direction, but I found this revival to be even more emotionally rich than the original, because of how it reflected the passage of time and our loss of Michael.
I find it a simple yet devastating show that quite smartly knows how to create a large event out of our quotidian existence, which reflects the basic tension of being alive. |
