Pennyfarthing, 103 Third Ave. at 13th Street, about a five minute walk from CSC. It does get very loud at happy hour/pre-theater, but they have a rear section somewhat removed from the bar, and also some outdoor seating.

Thanks to all for the other recommendations- absolutely loved Carmen Jones so I'm hoping to catch it at least one more time during its run, giving me the possibility to check out some of these other places!
