Look, I saw "Wicked" with Kristin and Idina and thought they were both splendid and worked well together onstage, but I don't know that it's reasonable--other than as just a fun thought experiment--to assume we should be hoping they will reunite. What worked well, IMO, about the pairing of them in "Wicked" was that they were from different worlds, in terms of style (operetta vs. power ballad), appearance, and character. Most of the time, that might be an impediment--we often criticize an ensemble of actors who do not seem to be playing in the same world. |
