| Feb and march are slow and maybe another show wants that theater. Kinky Boots and anastasia are lower grosses recently. | |

| It’s the cost that is just as important as the gross! Cheers Rob |

| These shows haven't been on TDF if they're so empty? Would like to see them both, and would jump if tickets appeared on TDF. | |

| The overhead is sky high at SOR with all those kids. It’s probably way more expensive to run each week than Kinky Boots is my guess. | |

| ...but you are right: its grosses look foreboding. I saw it last week to catch Tyler Glenn in the show before he left. All of the sides on the second level looked empty from my seat in the orchestra. I cannot overstate how brilliant J. Harrison Ghee is as Lola. He is a FORCE OF NATURE. I've seen all of Broadway's Lolas except Wayne Brady, and Ghee is SUPERLATIVE. I can't wait to see him tackle other roles. Carrie St. Louis is a riot as Lauren. I was particularly happy to see a take on the role that isn't just an Annaleigh Ashford impersonation. (Taylor Louderman is the only other replacement whom I've seen accomplish such a feat.) Caroline Bowman actually manages to make something of the somewhat thankless role of Nicola. The Angels dance Jerry Mitchell's Tony award winning choreography stupendously. It is as crisp and clean as ever, as is the music direction. Everyone in the ensemble sounds fantastic. I haven't seen Cook, who succeeded Glenn, but if you're a fan of the show, you can't go wrong with a return visit when Ghee is Lola. |

| Someone familiar with the situation told me last week that Moulin Rouge was waiting for School of Rock to announce a January closing so that they could take the Winter Garden. | |

| I saw the Saturday matinee show this past weekend. I had relatives in town & three young cousins saw this as their first broadway show. We had orchestra right seats, row H. I was stunned to see how many empty seats were in the orchestra. We bought the tickets back in May with a slight discount (I think $89 or $99/ticket). There were a half dozen empty seats in the row in front of us, fully empty rows behind us, or maybe 3/4 empty for some of them back at least 6 rows. The rear part of the side orchestra was filled-guessing there's a price break. I was surprised no one moved down during intermission. I think it was similar on the left side orchestra. Center orchestra seemed well-filled. There were people upstairs, but I didn't note how full it was up there. I didn't think the show was as effective as when I saw it with the original cast, but the kids loved it. The matinee Dewey is really channeling Jack Black in a major way. |
