GETTING THE BAND BACK TO WHERE THEY WERE BEFORE COMING TO BROADWAY
Posted by: NewtonUK 10:36 am EDT 08/24/18

Getting the Band Back Together had some Broadway royalty working on it - Director John Rando, Lighting Designer Ken Billington, and Set Designer Derek McClane. I'm sure their checks all cleared. This show seemed like a pilot for a 1980's sitcom that wasn't picked up. I can think of nothing that worked, and I have no earthly idea how this show got a theatre, knowing other shows with much stronger pedigrees that would have killed for the Belasco. Though they can likely have it soon. Please don't call me mean. Please don't protest that you loved this show. I humbly state that this is not an opinion - this show is horrible. I guess there were people who liked SHOGUN THE MUSICAL and THE PIRATE QUEEN. Well they were both better shows than this show. So were GRIND, A DOLLS LIFE, AMAZING GRACE, DISASTER!, KELLY, VIA GALACTICA, ROCKABYE HAMLET, DUDE, BREAKFAST AT TIFFANYS, MATA HARI, BRING BACK BIRDIE, AMOUR, ANYA, AMELIE, BILLY, CARMELINA, CHARLIE AND ALGERNON, CHRISTINE, COME SUMMER, CRY FOR US ALL, DANCE A LITTLE CLOSER, DRAT THE CAT, GANTRY, GEORGIE, HIGH FIDELITY, I'm SOLOMON, JUNO, LA STRADA ... well - you get the idea
