| Fully agree with what you say about summer openings, but you really do have a blind spot regarding the distinction between fact and opinion. And your comments about shows you like even though they are not "good" just makes matters worse. How are you defining "good"? I'll take a stab and say it is based on a set of parameters you find compelling. But if a person is entertained by a show - and you realize both that there are people here who were entertained by it and that this is the main positive attribute articulated here - then that is a definition of good. This works in reverse too: there are plenty of shows that have terrific craft in all elements but that do not resonate for people. For me, resonance is the key. Maybe not for you. But for any discussion (other than one based on the financial results or awards achieved or the like), "goodness" is subjective and manifestly opinion. You are of course free to state whatever you want here but I suggest you'd have an easier go of it if you'd refine your opinion vs fact awareness. (and that's just my opinion of course.) |
