Pure elitism right here. "I saw it and no one else matters." That nytimes article mentions no plans of moving and she is looking forward to her next projects. A short 2 month run in a 199 seat theater doesn't really deserve much acclaim. Stay in the role for 6 months to a year in a bigger theater where more people can see your work then you will be showered acclaim. This show could've extended further but I'm sure she just didn't care to.
CSC dropped their "access" program in favor of the frustrating todaytix rush program, which they cut off during the last three weeks of the run. So in my mind, short run, small theater, very few affordable tickets, I can make believe the show didn't even exist. |
