| I’m sure there are many people on this board (I include myself) who found this remembrance touching. It describes Barbara Harris as I imagined her. Here is a woman who left Broadway 50 years ago after having had TWO shows written for her by the cream of the musical world. Who never was at ease in the spotlight (watch her accepting her TONY). Who loved rehearsing but didn’t particularly enjoy performing. Who became a star inspite of herself. She chose movies that would not be successful because she was uncomfortable with all the trappings of success(ie Warren Beatty dumping you). Perhaps she was again uncomfotrtable in the spotlight of a Second City tribute. She slipped out and her friend understood and forgave her erratic behavior. He had more grace than you have shown. |
