Jon Jon Briones should have at LEAST been nominated - a slap in the face to Asian actors

He gave an absolutely incredible performance. I was shocked they had the nerve to not even nominate him when a white actor famously WON for the same asian role.

I would HAPPILY have given him the slot that Christian Borle had for Falsettos, or David Hyde Pierce who is really a featured actor in Dolly, not the male lead. Clearly he wouldn't have beaten Ben Platt to win, no one really had a chance that year.

But if he'd been nominated for Featured, I would 100% have given him the Tony over Gavin Creel who won, or any of the other excellent nominees. And Mike Faist or Andrew Rannells would have been my picks to give their slot up. Or even honestly Gavin Creel, who was wonderful but lacked the humor or color I think the part deserves.
