She's a bigger name but she has won plenty of awards, and she's got no shortage for attention. They don't compete for a slot in the same category though, male/female, so her nomination doesn't really have much to do with him not getting one.
But with all the push for diversity it's really sad that this incredible Asian actor hasn't gotten his due in the major Broadway production where his part is tailor made for Tony love, and he delivered, and his turn in a high profile mini series tailor made for Emmy love and he delivered. In both cases other people got nominated, but not him. Even if just as a token diversity inclusion... but he fully deserved it in both cases.
