The billing topic below got me thinking about this. As a kid it always struck me as wrong when they changed the billing with new casts. As mentioned below for instance, Annie was always the same. Annie and Daddy Warbucks first with larger print then Grace and Rooster with an and for Miss Hannigan. (and a box? I don't remember) --- though they did give Laurie Beachman hire billing out of the ensemble but then her replacements didn't get that.
The Pirates of Penzance revival bothered me. I saw it with Karla DeVito and she was below the title listed as "with" Tony Azito and Karla De Vito. I always felt sorry for her . She was playing the same role as Linda Ronstadt. I felt she should have been above the title. (although that would have made her first before Kevin Kline at least until Robby Benson took over as Fredric.)
Just stuff I'd think about while studying my cast albums and Playbills as a kid. |
