To me, the sense of being damaged that Ambrose brought to the role was the definitive element of both her interpretation and the entire production. As I imagine what Benanti is going to bring to the role, it is far more interesting to speculate if she will convey a similar quality than to guess how old she is going to read (especially when, as others have pointed out, Shaw's interest in the character's age seems far less concrete than those of many posters here). |
