The couple of productions I saw since Mint moved to Theater Row have been disappointing. I found them to have amateurish acting, and be slow, talky, and very boring. I'm not surprised by the review of their latest show. I was already in a bad mood due to the stress and anxiety their "no late seating" policy gave me when I was on the train, and from there it was all downhill. When I get in a bad mood due to "no late seating", I don't smile, laugh or applaud. I just sit stone-faced. Or I fall asleep (as I did at the Mint since it was a long day of work and I couldn't keep my eyes open, it was just so boring). I don't think there's much of a market for classical theater anymore, especially with two recent theaters closing (The Pearl Theater Company, The Actors Company Theater). Will the Mint be next ?
