| Isherwood (or Mervyn Rothstein, who contributed to this obit) made an error easily correctable, if someone had checked. It states that Simon won Best Playwright (in a year the Tonys gave that award), lost Best Play to "That Championship Season." Not even close. The year was 1965 and Simon lost to "The Subject Was Roses." "Championship" was 1972. Very odd mistake. |
