I was there this past Saturday, may have even been less than that. Everyone stood up en masse of course when she started down the stairs and while many were cheering thinking it would come to a full stop at that point, but she kept walking and started in on the song. People quickly realized it, and took their seats, at least where I was. To me it wasn't any different than the two other times I saw Midler.
To be honest, I think there was longer applause for when the waiter first comes screaming into the restaurant to announce her impending arrival. |
